The student works for a minimum of 20 working days at the internship location assigned to him. There, he or she becomes acquainted with the application of one or more branches of law to concrete cases. This should allow the student to reflect on a subject for a master's thesis on the one hand (and write a research proposal around it) and on the other hand to reflect on the way in which concrete cases are approached in practice (and to write a report about this). This international internship of 20 days, valued at 6 credits, can be taken in place of an international internship of 10 days, valued at 3 credits (see course unit (4137) Methodology 2 for master's thesis: Internship).

Additional information | The evaluation will consist in the following three elements:
- A research proposal, which shall embed findings and insights drawn from the internship experience also from a comparative perspective with Belgian law - An individual SWOT analysis, which will be performed by the internship host institution - A report, written by the students as interns and discussed bilaterally with the internship coordinator.
In consultation with the Programme Board and the Student Administration, the lecturer determines the schedule and the examination format for a possible catch-up examination. The examination format may deviate from the examination format used during the regular examination period. The schedule and examination format will be communicated to the student after the request for a catch-up exam has been approved. |
