The following competencies need to be achieved in a business-economic context, building upon CEFR level B1 (CEFR level B1) Business English for listening, reading, speaking, and writing.
• Listening: The student can understand the main points when clear, standard language is spoken about familiar topics regularly encountered at work, school, leisure activities, etc. The student can understand the main points of many radio or TV programs on current affairs or topics of personal or professional interest when the speech is relatively slow and clear.
• Reading: The student can comprehend texts that mainly consist of high-frequency, everyday, or work-related language. The student can understand descriptions of events, feelings, and wishes in personal letters.
• Speaking - Interaction: The student can handle most situations that can arise while traveling in an area where the target language is spoken. The student can participate in conversations on topics that are familiar, of personal interest, or related to daily life (e.g., family, hobbies, work, travel, and current events) without preparation.
• Speaking - Production: The student can connect phrases in a simple way to describe experiences and events, my dreams, expectations, and ambitions. The student can briefly give reasons and explanations for my opinions and plans. The student can tell a story or recount the plot of a book or film and describe my reactions.
• Writing: The student can write simple coherent texts on topics that are familiar or of personal interest. The student can write personal letters describing experiences and impressions.
