From the evolution of retail design, branding, consumer behaviour and shopping behaviour, the architecture of retail is addressed. This goes from small scale (small shops) to large scale (urban). The visions and creations of the most important designers and thinkers are discussed in detail. The students are given a theoretical framework with which to reflect critically on the current retail landscape and consumer behaviour. The focus is on the knowledge needed to design a well-functioning shop.
