Course overview: The goal of the course is to contribute to the development of students' research competences. The course consists of two parts. PART I - Introduction to research
- The scientific approach and alternative approaches to investigation
- The problem statement: definining the managerial and research problem
- The literature review: searching, selecting, reading, argumenting and writing (incl. citing)
- Theoretical framework and hypothesis development
- Elements of the research design
- Qualitative data collection (through interviews and observations)
- Quantitative data collection (through questionnaires)
- Other forms of quanitative data collection
- Qualitative data analysis
- Quantitative data analysis
PART II A research assignment, centred on writing a literature review, carried out in small groups.

| Additional information | Exam contracts are not possible for this course, due to compulsory participation in classes and group assigment. It is required to be enrolled for this course and show up during class before mid October. For the group paper for the 'written evaluation during teaching period', there will be within-group peer evaluation. More detailed information on the composition of the grade can be found on blackboard. |
