Content

The Making of and everything you always wanted to know, but were afraid to ask. What is really involved in the development and realisation of a spatial design? In a series of lectures, a number of exhibitions are deconstructed and unravelled in images and text. Step by step. Different genres of exhibitions for museums, fairs and cultural institutions. Big, small, short and long lasting will be discussed and shown. Starting with the first contact with the client, the question and debrief, location research, business agreements, the permit process, role and responsibilities of the designer, construction and dismantling up to the financial settlement. But also, how do you deal with the various stakeholders in a project? Who decides? And who pays? The less attractive sides of the profession are also discussed.
