  • The student knows the neurological conditions including pathophysiology, functioning problems, clinical assessment, rehabilitation concepts, treatment techniques and scientific evidence.
  • The student can retrieve the relevant information related to an individual case.


Content

The assignment is explained at the beginning of the course. Subsequently, several case presentations are held by the lecturers of the different universities involved and this in different neurological disorders. This will include: indication for physiotherapy and selection of outcome measures; execution of the measurements; use of scientific evidence in determining the short and long term objectives and treatment approach. It also includes an integrative reflection on aspects such as neuroanatomy, physiology and psychology.

  • 1. The graduate of the master of Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy can autonomously (with the help of technology) establish a
    (contra-)indication for physiotherapy by performing a screening, and make a physiotherapeutic diagnosis at an integrated level for complex problems, based on the presenting complaint, the targeted anamnesis and the clinical physiotherapeutic examination.
