The students are familiar with production, cost of production and perfectly competitive markets as discussed in Algemene economie (3266)



Content

Profit maximization and supply decisions in perfectly competitive markets; the functioning, efficiency and welfare effects of competitive markets and government intervention; market power in monopoly, monopsony; pricing strategies under market power, monopolistic competition and oligopoly; and market failures, including asymmetric information, externalities and public goods.

The theory section of the examination includes a correction for guessing.
