This course studies the use of information systems from a business perspective. The curriculum follows a "Data Value Chain" approach, guiding students from the definition of business processes and data collection, through storage and analysis, and finally to strategic decision-making and ethical responsibility. We will study how systems allow companies to excel operationally and build customer loyalty. Emphasis is placed on Business Intelligence foundations , infrastructure , and the security risks modern businesses face. Also as a part of this course, students will learn how to manage data tables and gain insights using spreadsheets (MS Excel).
