Content

During this course students will work in groups of 2 to 3 students on a theoretical or practical tourism topic. Students will have to work out a solution based on insights from multiple disciplines (e.g., psychology, sociology, geography, ... ). The solution will have to based upon primary quantitative data collected and analyzed by the students.  

Lectures provided will cover basic quantitative principles (e.g., construction of a questionnaire) as well as basic quantitative analysis (e.g., SPSS introduction to t-testing, ANOVA and regression). 

Each group of students will be assigned a promotor who will provide guidance and feedback during the work sessions. 

At the end of the semester students will have to present and defend their work during an oral presentation as well as a paper.

Conditions

All group members are required to participate in all presentations, feedback sessions and work sessions. Participation in lectures is not mandatory.

Consequences

Students who fail to participate in one or more presentations, feedback sessions or work sessions and cannot provide evidence that their absence was due to illness or unforeseen circumstances will receive an N for this course. In case of an excused absence due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, an alternative evaluation will be provided.
