Starting from an investigative process, a design is elaborated in which the sale of tangible and intangible goods (including services) is addressed. The student is first given time to arrive at a strong retail concept through research and analysis. This concept is then translated into a fully-fledged shop design (facade, furnishings, lighting, etc.) with the emphasis on the functional aspects (flow, routing, signing, etc.). In concrete terms, this means that the student learns 'the craft' of retail design, namely the ability to design a well-functioning floor plan, in a large-scale project.
