Prerequisites

Medium to advanced level of knowledge on international economics, international management and international business. This is equivalent to at least 10 ECTS level courses on these topics in a business or management master degree program.



Content

The purpose of this course is to develop students’ (practical) capabilities for Doing Business in the World. Building upon their sound knowledge of international economics, management and business theory, this course materialized in three layers.
1 – Global business in context. Dealing with cultural differences in management and marketing, geopolitics, and an integrated approach to international business;
2 - Business Game on doing international business;
3 – Capita Selecta: Guest speakers on timely topics in IB.

Conditions The student takes part in each formal session related to the business game.
Consequences Each missed formal session related to the business game implies a reduction of 20% of all (partial) grades related to the business game.
Additional information Each student is expected to contribute to the business game and any other group work. Peer evaluation will be conducted via Buddycheck on Blackboard. The factor calculated by this tool will be multiplied to the related group score for each individual student. The calculation method and the peer evaluation procedure will be further explained in the course guide.
