Module:
- For students with Biomedical Science backgrround (Ba-BMW): 2 internships of equal duration in physics and chemistry
- For the students with non-biomedical background: one internship in either physics or chemistry and one in BIOMED (equal duration internships).
- For students going abroad via Erasmus scholarships: Topics covering 2 disciplines is a prerequisite (e.g., Material development / material characterization for biomedical applications; Development of methods relevant to biomedical science)
Module content:
During the junior practical training the student will obtain:
- experience in setting up experimental research and specific experiments
- practical experience in modern research techniques and methods
- general insights in different research topics
- experience in keeping a lab journal
- experience in the analyses and reporting of newly obtained results both orally as well as in manuscript form
This course is a first acquaintance for the student with practical research work in different lab environments following the respective lab practices. During this training the focus will be on the exploration of new and relevant research technologies and methods.

| Conditions | The evaluation is based on 3 elements: Practical work, individual written report and oral presentation and defense of research results. The written report and oral presentation can be redone in resit but the practical work cannot. |

| Consequences | A student that gains a score smaller than 10/20 on one or more of the evaluation elements (Practical work, individual written report and individual oral presentation and defense of research results) receives "fail" as final score. |
